The San Joaquin County Fair Youth Advisory Council is a youth
leadership organization sponsored by the 2nd District
Agricultural Association. The mission of the Council is to make a
positive difference in the lives of students by developing their
potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career
success through their participation in Fair activities.

The Council shall consist of youth representing 4-H, FFA,
Grange and the Community. Full members are the core leaders
of the group and have voting privileges. Each full member serves
for one year. Affiliate members assist the full members and are
entitled to become full members after one year as an affiliate.
Affiliates may not vote on Council business.

All Youth Advisory Council members and affiliates must be
successfully enrolled in high school and be recommended by an
adult advisor. All members must exhibit in the San Joaquin
County Fair (ie., floriculture, horticulture, youth still exhibit or
livestock). All members must have the approval of their parents
or guardians. Applications from affiliate members will be
accepted now through January 17, 2007. A panel will review
prospective member applications and schedule interviews. Successful affiliate member candidates will begin their service
upon receipt and approval of their application.
